Colonel HS Chauhan (Retired) is a Veteran officer, who was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery in the 24 Medium Regiment (Self Propelled) in 1977. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, from where he graduated in 1976.
In his more than 33 years in service, he has held a wide variety of important command and staff appointments. Having excelled in all the mandatory courses, he had the honour of commanding 194 Field Regiment in Amritsar.
He trained as a Group Testing Officer (GTO) and has the unique distinction of having served as a GTO for nine plus years. This included a GTO tenure in 17 SSB, Bengaluru, and the tenure of a Senior GTO in 34 SSB, Allahabad. Importantly, he was instrumental in the Design of Stage 1 Testing and also the de novo system of selection for SSBs, besides assessing more than 6000 candidates.
Col Chauhan has been deeply involved in Corporate Assessment and Selections, undertaking the exercise for numerous domestic and foreign companies.
He is one of the founding pillars of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI), Mohali, where he spent three years, which saw stupendous success rates and also as Director, Gurukul, Kurukshetra for a period of two years.
He joined IMPACT in 2016 and has been a pillar of strength and a guiding light for students aspiring to crack the SSB process. His wide expertise in this domain has also helped our students hone and refine their personalities In his Veteran’s innings, he has already guided more than 120 successful SSB aspirants and is one of the honoured leaders and trainers at IMPACT.
